Full Recommendation
The Committee encourages the State party to engage all the relevant actors, including nongovernmental organizations and other members of civil society, in the process of discussion of
the present concluding observations at the national level and facilitate their participation prior
to the submission of its next periodic report.
Assessment
Iran has yet to submit its next periodic report for the Committee on Economic, Social and
Cultural Rights despite its submission being due on May 31, 2018.1 There is no readily available
information that might indicate that the Islamic Republic of Iran engaged all relevant actors in
the process of discussion of the Committee’s concluding observations at the national level. There
is no readily available information that might suggest that the Islamic Republic of Iran is in the
process of drafting its next periodic report and whether the State facilitates the participation of all
relevant actors prior the submission of such report.
