Full recommendation:
The Committee invites the State party to submit an updated core document, not exceeding 42,400
words, in accordance with the requirements for the common core document in the harmonized
guidelines on reporting under the international human rights treaties, including guidelines on a
common core document and treaty-specific documents (HRI/GEN/2/Rev.6, chap. I) and
paragraph 16 of General Assembly resolution 68/268.
Assessment
As of February 2021, the most recent core document on reporting under international human
rights treaties that the Government of Iran has submitted to the Committee was dated 28 January
1999.1 Since that time, no updated core document has been submitted in accordance above
recommendation. 2
